If we can build a successful model in the poorest and most desperate environment in the world, even though it may be very small and may take decades to complete, it will someday become a universal model that can be successful anywhere in the world so that it will spread to all parts of the world. Jungto (Pure Land), a world without suffering and a world we all want, will not come by itself, and cannot be made possible by the efforts of one or two people. It will gradually become a reality only when a vast number of people join forces and work together. We wish that the seed we have planted will grow into a big tree that will provide shade to a countless number of people.
These are the basic rights of every human being regardless of race, nationality, ethnicity, or religion. However, there are too many people who suffer because their basic human rights are not guaranteed. Amidst this human tragedy, JTS hopes to make a better world by helping those in need and giving them a light of hope.
JTS is an international NGO relief organization with the aim of fulfilling the three goals stated above. JTS operates all around world, especially in Asia, to eradicate famine, disease and illiteracy. It is an international relief organization that has been granted special consultative status by the UN ECOSOC. JTS International, with headquarters in Korea, has 4 branch offices. JTS Korea and JTS America are in charge of fund-raising, while JTS India and JTS Philippines conducts development projects in cooperation with local communities. Since 1999 JTS has carried out relief activities in close cooperation with its branch offices abroad, dispatching field officers to countries around the world that have been hit by a disaster.

We wish to practice humanitarianism by helping those in need around the globe, who are not able to receive an education due to poverty and social discrimination and end up leading a life of poverty and disease.
We wish to carry out relief projects to eradicate starvation, disease, and illiteracy in third world countries such as India and the Philippines and to create a global community of people who help each other.

Educational Aid
Based on the principle of helping people to attain a minimum level of literacy, JTS builds schools and provides school supplies with the aim of eradicating the illiteracy of people who have long been excluded from the benefits of civilization.
Community Development
JTS provides aid to repair damages caused by natural disasters and to improve unsanitary living conditions. JTS encourages the voluntary participation of the villagers in the restoration process to promote their self-reliance and recovery of community spirit in the village. The aim of reconstructing the village does not simply lie in constructing buildings but also in helping the villagers become revitalized by cooperating with each other and regain their sense of confidence so that they themselves become capable of developing their own community. JTS also tries to provide people with the opportunity to engage in communal activities by constructing new buildings and houses.
Preservation of Traditional Culture
JTS supports the construction of schools aimed at preserving cultural traditions and construction of educational facilities designed to promote transfer of cultural heritage.
Emergency Relief Aid
JTS provides emergency relief aid in order to save the lives of people in areas hit by various natural disasters or endangered by armed conflicts and help the victims return to their normal lives as soon as possible. JTS carries out two kinds of relief activities. One is emergency relief aid that quickly delivers the necessary relief goods and workers, secured locally, based on an accurate understanding of the situation in the disaster area. The other is disaster recovery activity that deals with reconstruction of the houses that have been destroyed. In particular, JTS focuses on identifying marginalized disaster-stricken areas that receive relatively little help from other relief organizations and provides aid to those in dire need of help.

We hope to make a world in which
anyone who is hungry can eat
anyone who needs medical care can receive it
every child can get educated
anyone hit by natural disasters like droughts, floods, heat waves, or extreme cold can get help
everyone is respected regardless of gender
everyone is treated equally regardless of skin color.
We wish to make a world full of people who
are aware that the process of living each day is happiness in itself
know that everything originates from them and comes back to them
know that cultivating a pure mind leads to making the world a pure land
know that becoming free of their desires, rather than satisfying their desires, leads to happiness
do not get attached to the past or the future
know that the world they live in is a place where bodhisattvas practice
would willingly go into hell to help others;
are happy just to be alive
are thankful just to be alive.
are happy when they see the sun, the moon, the stars, a tree, a rabbit or a deer
are thankful to be able to have a meal and have a roof over their heads
are even more thankful to be on the path taken by the Buddha.
We take refuge in the Buddha.
It has been three years since Jungto International began working with the goal of ensuring the “Peace and Wellbeing of Humanity” regardless of race, nationality, religion, ideology, or region. Jungto International is now planning to expand its programs under the new name of JTS Korea. Based on the achievements and experiences from past projects, JTS Korea plans to carry out more vigorous and beneficial projects.
JTS is an acronym for Join Together Society. It means that people, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or ideology, who wish to help those in need meet (Join) and join forces (Together) to work as a group (Society). JTS Korea was established based on the principle of dependent origination and the idea of “First attain enlightenment through cultivation, and then save all beings.” taught by the Buddha. JTS is also an acronym for Jungto Society, which means “a group of people who wish to create a world in which there is no suffering.”
JTS Korea works to eradicate poverty, disease, and illiteracy, calamities that no human being should suffer from, and seeks ways for all the people in the world to value one another like family and live together in harmony. It encourages people to share whatever they have with others, so that everyone can lead a good life, and it searches for and implements ways to give hope and courage to those in need. In addition, it raises awareness that poverty, disease and illiteracy are the problems of all of humanity and encourages people to take responsibility and participate in the fight against these problems. Lastly, JTS Korea works to increase leadership capabilities of the Korean people so they can lead the way in achieving the peace, happiness and prosperity of humanity, and it will continue to study and present wise guidelines for life.
