A Brief History of JungTo Society  
 
 


1988 Founded JungTo Society and the Institute for Buddhism and Society
  1991 Established the JungTo School of Buddhism and JTS
  1992 Opened the JungTo Retreat Centre
  1993 Initiation of 10,000 days Retreat Promises
  1994 Founded JTS India and began the humanitarian activities for the Harisans in India.
  1996 Established Good Friends: Centre for Peace, Human Rights and Refugees (formally known as the Korean Buddhist Sharing Movement (KBSM))
  1997 Campaign for Petition on Appealing the Humanitarian Assistance to North Korea in solidarity with four major religions
  1998 International Buddhist Symposium was organised celebrating the tenth anniversary of JungTo
  1999 Reported Human rights Conditions for the North Korean Refugees in China
  2000 Initiated 1000days Prayer Marathon Campaign for the Reconciliation and Unification of Korea
  2002 Began the fourth 1000days Retreat Promises from of the 10,000days Retreat Promises
